Prepare for an upgrade assessment

A few practical details make the first conversation more useful.

Describe the existing home

Share your city, property type, approximate age and whether it is occupied. Include the rooms involved and any building or access restrictions. You can provide the precise address directly when a visit is arranged.

Collect useful details

Record measurements, appliance or equipment model numbers, photos and any existing drawings or assessment reports. Do not open panels, disturb materials or enter unsafe spaces to collect information.

Explain the outcome

Say what you want to improve and what should stay. Include a budget range if you have one, desired timing and who is making product or design decisions. A project can still be an early planning enquiry.

Confirm the next step

Ask whether the proposed next step is a phone conversation, paid assessment, design visit or written quotation. Confirm fees and availability directly before agreeing to services. An enquiry on Upgrading.ca is not a booking or a purchase.
